The market-leading companies, Samsung and
LG have released 2012 TVs which are very advanced inside and out. Both of them
are 3D TVs with Dual Core processors and Wifi built-in for faster internet
access and multitasking. They have slimmer bezels than 2011 models and a metallic
U-shaped stand. As the technology is being developed rapidly, there are more
and more aspects to consider when buying a TV. So I decided to host a showdown
of comparing the flagship models of LG and Samsung. There will be four matchups
– Specification, 3D, Smart and design & extra features.
[Round
1: Specification]
The LG LM9600 replaces its predecessor, the LW9800 while the Samsung
ES8000 replaces the UND8000. The Samsung ES8000 is a EDGE-lit LED LCD TV which
adopted the same active 3D technology from last year. There is much difference
in the general specification except for the camera and mic equipped on the top
bezel. This recognizes motion and voice and puts the commands into action. On
the other hand, LG LM9600 has the mic in the remote which makes it more
convenient for the user with much less noise interference. I am going to cover
more details about these new features in “the Round #3: Smart”. LM9600 is a
Full array LED TV boasting the high frame rate of 480Hz. It is such a huge
transformation from the classic black design to a futuristic bezel and stand
with metallic touch. Stay tuned for the next showdown about 3D feature.
