So Pc world came out with thier review of the LW476500 from LG.
Pros

  • Excellent feature selection
  • Highly competitive price
  • Very good image quality
  • Cons
  • Minor motion issues
Bottom Line
LG's 47LW6500 passive-3D LED TV offers great image quality and features for the price

Is the quick version but there is a whole lot more to the article.

I will provide you with the link here.

Now that it is Dolby certified how great is that and still $900-$1500 less than a Sony or Samsung.

So if you interested go check out the review. Look at the pictures for sure. The side picture of this TV looks sexy for sure! 4/5 is pretty good but for only minor motion issues I would have given it a 4.5/5 I feel that is more accurate. Either way its a near perfect TV for gaming so no matter how you feel go check one out.

http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-tvs/lg-55lw9800/4864-6482_7-35004016-2.html?ord=creationDate+desc&tag=mncol;uoBody
Check out a user review there.

I don't really cnets TV reviews from the editors they seems to always be the opposite of the users something people hate an return they love and good solid TVs they hate.

The best part of the whole deal is that the TV is certified by THX! Thats right THX in both 2d and 3d modes so what ever your watching its going to look awesome!

So check the out new LW9800 from LG on sale now at who ever sells TVs by your house.

Active 3D may cause photo sensitive epileptic seizures

"  "WARNING," says the Samsung site that promotes its new line of 3D sets, "children and teenagers may be more susceptible to health issues associated with viewing in 3D and should be closely supervised when viewing these images.
"Pregnant women, the elderly, sufferers of serious medical conditions, those who are sleep deprived or under the influence of alcohol should avoid utilizing the unit's 3D functionality," it reads. "

Is the original article.

I for one saw this comming any technology that is blocking vision from one eye very rapidly is bound to cause both brain and eye problems.

Another reason to go Cinema 3D if your in the market currently.

Viewers choose Passive 3D TV

To many people, a 3D TV set is a 3D TV set. But it’s not, there are two distinct systems being sold right now. Active and passive 3DTV are fighting it out to win the 3D format crown, and LG have released data showing that passive 3D is preferred by viewers.
passive acrive 3d 300x220 Viewers Choose Passive 3D Over Active 3D TV Sets
Passive 3D beats Active in consumer study
Passive 3D is found in most cinemas and uses circular polarization to separate the left and right eye images on screen. Active 3D needs a power source for the specs and each lens shuts to show each eye a different image.
Active 3D specs cost between $50-$100 per pair and require batteries. Passive glasses cost around $2 or just “borrow” a pair from your local theater.
There is much arguing over the systems, with proponents of active 3D claiming less flicker and a brighter image. Of course, passive users would argue with those points, and also mention the massive savings when needing additional glasses (some TV’s ship with one pair only!)
The results were released this week and commissioned by LG who used Morpace to do the study. The end result found that 80% of consumers prefer the passive 3D TVs over active 3D sets.
The study was not biased either as LG produce both types of 3D sets. the consumer test compared the LG passive glasses 3DTV against a Samsung active-shutter glasses-based 3DTV and separately against a Sony active-shutter set.
Morpace measured real-time feedback, and found that consumers preferred the passive 3D sets in many of the categories, including overall 3D experience, 3D picture quality and 3D effect. Users also much preferred the lighter passive 3D glasses available at your local cineplex.
Speaking about the results, Wayne Park, CEO for LG Electronics USA said:- “We developed LG Cinema 3D to solve the problems consumers were experiencing with active 3D and to provide the best 3D experience in the home. With its outstanding picture quality, affordability, and easy-to-use and share glasses, it’s no surprise that LG CINEMA 3D technology is preferred by four out of five of consumers over Sony and Samsung’s active 3D.”
It is expected that by the year 2014, 3D TVs will account for over 40% of the overall TV sales. And research by IHS iSuppli shows that by 2015, over half of those 3D TV sales will be for the passive 3D type.

Sky 3D is now over a year old!

In 3D news time flies when you are having fun.

As the title says Sky 3D is over a year old and starting to advertise on 2d TVs with remote Romania getting its own 3D channel now.

The U.S already has 2 providers with a handful of full time 3D channels 6 to my count and with espn 3D signing an NFL deal I think we can see a post season 3D TV buying spree.

A screen capture for one of the new Sky ads

Also LG released the specs for its flagship Cinema 3D TV in the U.K. which is the same as the LW9800 in the U.S.

"The viewing angle on both screens is good, thanks in part to their use of IPS (in-place switching) panels, while both have identical design; a rectangular stand with a glass column supporting the TV (and almost magnifying the cables behind - weird).
Boasting built-in Wi-Fi, the LW980T Series screens also manage 2D to 3D conversion, host LG’s Smart TV hub, feature four HDMI inputs and two USB ports - but it was one off-piste feature that really got us excited.
It’s called "dual play", and it’s a stunningly good idea for split-screen games; it‘s possible to sit next to another gamer and both play the same (normally) split-screen game, on the same LW980T telly, but using 3D glasses to see only their own side of the screen. This split-screen-to-full screen conversion is done not by reinventing some new panel tech, but instead by having two pairs of glasses, and swapping their lenses around so one pair has two left eye lenses, and the other has two right-eye lenses. Easy - and brilliant. Dual screen glasses will be available in the near future, though it’s probably easier just to make your own - both these TVs come with seven pairs of 3D glasses.
Without being able to see exactly where your opponent is hiding, you’ll never cheat at Call of Duty again. Both LW980T Nano Full LED 3D TVs are available in the UK later this month for £1799 and £2499 respectively."
Here is an excerpt from the review on pocket-lint.

Sony Going to passive tech?

As the article below states LG is really getting active about passive 3D!

They are in talks with Sony to sell and license them to make Cinema 3D powered TVs.

That would put everyone but Samsung into the Cinema 3d license camp.

This would be huge for LG and the cost of both making active 3D Sets and the extra $600 to $1,000 it costs consumers to buy one may have Sony wanted to change to the cheaper and widely accepted as a better viewing experience.

What do you think?

Diablo 3, New game play footage finally arrives.

Though its short it is from the new closed beta so it does show what the beginning should look like when you first load up the game.
This video focus's on the monk who just tears through the enemies in the early game unlike d2 where even the lvl 1 monsters took several hits.
He is also blinding the monsters with every hit, seems a little too powerful though this could only be for normal difficulty, nightmare and hell could be much worse.
The effects look good and having voice acting though the game will be a big improvement.
If your thinking about Diablo 3, check out the video below!

Uncharted Golden Abyss

Possibly one of the best games that will be released for Playstation Vita is Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Nathan Drake in another of his adventures will have the full power of Sony's portable to help you on your way.

With amazing graphics for a portable, Uncharted: Golden Abyss has beautiful special effects to be seen and with textures and general graphics of the highest quality.
With the game running you can use the touch screen for in-game actions and also the device's accelerometer to keep balance for Drake for example.

Let's see the official video of Uncharted: Golden Abyss that will be released for Playstation Vita and realize that we are really talking about the next generation of portables.
Though from what we have seen with the underselling of the 3DS maybe we can’t expect to much from the PlayStation VITA.
Finally the market will speak.

3D Active glasses for $600

WHY! 600$ for crap!
http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/19/vuzix-wrap-1200vr-video-eyewear-does-3d-with-head-tracking-for/
A simulated large TV screen at only 720p and a lower HZ rate?
for $600 you can buy a 32" passive 3D TV and just use it as a monitor with local dimming and a much better viewing experience. (the glasses don't have local dimming)  Also if you want Passive 3D glasses they are only $10 a pair. And they come with a nearly unlimited viewing angle which is what your paying $600 for.

I cant see this technology catching on at all $600 a pair for essentially being the same as passive glasses is a joke. With autosteroscopic 4 or 5 years from production Passive is the way to go!

PSBox 360

In almost every gaming site there is a certain fight between players of the PS3 and Xbox 360, that’s for sure. Anyone who has two consoles tend not to join the fight because they are well served and play anything that is released. What about you? Have you thought about having both of the last generation consoles? And have you ever thought about having the two consoles together in a single cabinet?

This is what this modder did to
solve this problem. He built some kind of PSBox 360, where he joined the hardware of the two consoles in only one case. With the PSBox it is possible to play Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 simultaneously! Timofiend as he is known on the web, published photos of the work that took about one month to complete, and also aims to provide a step-by-step of what he did for others who have the two consoles and also want to  have a single PSBOX 360!
Now all he needs to do is Add the WII U when it comes out and get the Kinect to control everything. That’s a system I would buy.

Sonic!

Sonic 20th Anniversary
To celebrate the 20 years old of the most beloved porcupine / hedgehog in the world of games, it was released an App for iPhone and iPod Touch where you can play Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and a Sketch version of the game, called Sonic Sketchhog.

With graphics like the original game, this app is the right choice for gamers who played a lot in the old Sonic for many systems. How many rings can you get? This also makes me want to watch that old sonic cartoon.

Diablo 3! Skill tress out.

Check them out here, http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk or here.
Frankly I'm surprised at the lack of total skills compared to d1 and d2. Now granted some low level skills in d2 were only worth putting 1 point in some others say static shock, weapon masteries etc..... were a must have late game.
Now I'm not sure which game came up with the rune spell system first but, well diablo 3's recent change kind of feels like a less well implemented http://www.pathofexile.com/ (path of exile) Rip off.
I like the idea to socket spells to make them your own, but with out different effects for each socket and only having 5 sockets which all pretty much do the same thing. I doubt we will see the same variety of characters we did in d2.
The Witch Doctor does look pretty fun though I must say.
It's looking to shape up to be a nice game, with starcraft 2 well recived, can diablo 3 make the same kind of comeback? Blizzard showed us that they can make old games new and good but the latest WOW expansion was notably bad. With some many high quality games coming out for the Arpg genre (path of exile, Blizzards own SC 2 mods, League of legends, and I'm sure more I forgot that people will tell me about). Though built in from launch PVP with definitively help.

Gizmodo Rates Passive 3D TVs on top!

The Best 3D Technology: Stick with Passive Glasses
Dr. Raymond Soneira of DisplayMate Technologies separates the best smartphone, tablet, HDTV, and multimedia displays from the worst with his Display Technology Shoot-Out series. And his newly crowned 3DTV champion might just give you some major 3D buyer's remorse:"

Sharpness and Resolution with FPR Passive Glasses

By far the most controversial and misunderstood issue in 3D TV currently has to do with the sharpness and resolution delivered with Passive Glasses. Because they split the odd and even lines between the right and left eyes it's easy to see why many people (and some reviewers) conclude that FPR technology delivers only half of the HD resolution. However, 3D images have only horizontal parallax from the horizontally offset cameras, so the vertical image content for the right and left eyes are in fact identical – but with purely horizontal parallax offsets from their different right and left camera viewpoints. So there isn't any 3D imaging information that is missing because all of the necessary vertical resolution and parallax information is available when the brain combines the right and left images into the 3D image we actually see. That is the theory and fundamental principle behind 3D Image Fusion for FPR TVs—so next we actually tested it to see how accurate it is and how sharp the 3D images actually appear.

3D gaming glasses

"Hoping to boost sales of its 3D televisions among gamers, LG showed off technology that lets traditional split screen multiplayer games be played full screen.
Called Dual Play, it works by making a 3D display essentially two 2D displays overtop each other: Rather than sending different images to the left and right eyes of one player, it sends different images to the left and right players. One player wears a set of polarized 3D glasses with two left eye lenses andadd the other player wears a set with two right eye lenses. That allows each player to see their own section of the game full screen, but only in 2D."
LG said the technology works with any of its Cinema 3D televisions and the glasses will be included with LW980 televisions, which will ship later this month, according to an LG spokeswoman at the company's booth. She also said that users could make their own Dual Play glasses by just swapping lenses.
The TVs can toggle between a traditional split screen view, or the Dual Play view which, without 3D glasses, looks confusing as two screens are stacked on top of each other.
Though the viewing for games is in 2D it is a lot better than active glasses. Great Job LG on this one though I suspect people have been doing this at home for a while.

Gears of war 3
Take a look at this new trailer for Gears of War 3, the game is still scheduled for Sept. 20, and shows a lot of action going on in the trailers, the game probably will be in the same line of its two predecessors.
Enjoy it!! I know I will lots of good Xbox exclusives coming out this year.

I you have not played the first two I highly Recommend them, they are great you have to play with a friends as it was made for two players. The story and the gameplay for the previous 2 are amazing it’s no wonder they had been rated in the top 5 games of the last 10 years many many times.

With Star Wars Galaxies passing the sci-fi series' massively multiplayer online torch to Star Wars: The Old Republic this year, Sony Online Entertainment today detailed the retiring MMO role-playing game's last hurrah. The publisher will pull the plug on Star Wars Galaxies December 15, but not before it declares an ultimate victor in the ongoing battle between the Rebellion and the Empire.
Starting next month, SOE will run new events and contests challenging players of both sides to rack up Galactic Civil War points. At an as-yet-undetermined time before the game shuts down, the points will be tallied up, and an ultimate winner will be declared for each of the game's servers. Beyond just having a victor declared, that determination will change what happens in the game's last moments on December 15.
To participate in the final run up to the game's demise, gamers will need to have an active Star Wars Galaxies subscription or SOE All Access Game Pass on September 15. That's the last day for users to create new accounts in the game or reactivate old ones. Billing for the game will be turned off October 15, allowing those with active accounts at the time to keep playing free of charge until the game's end.

PES 2012

Many people will be happy with the recommended requirements of the new PES 2012. The requirements were published in the demo of the game settings.
PES 2012 promises a good outcome when compared to 2011 with an AI that is smarter.
The full game is scheduled to be released on October 7 this year for PC, PS2, X360, WII, PS3, PSP, and 3DS. And as has been said, let's see the requirements
that are nothing surprising and very light on your PC. From the screen shots and graphics it looks like they are using a point cloud + polygon system, so even with low system requirements it still looks good.

While like most people you won't buy a soccer game but this game should sell a large amount of copies over seas.

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

Windows XP SP3, Vista SP2, 7
Intel Pentium IV 2.4GHz or equivalent processor
1GB of RAM
Video Card compatible with DirectX 9.0c. 128MB Pixel Shader 3.0 (NVIDIA GeForce6600 video card or AMD ATI Radeon X1300)

RECOMMENDED SYSTEM CONFIGURATION:

Windows XP SP3, Vista SP2, 7
Intel Core2 Duo 2.0GHz or equivalent processor
2GB RAM
Video Card compatible with DirectX 9.0c. 512MB Pixel Shader 3.0 (ATI AMD RadeonHD2600 or NVidia GeForce 7900 or higher)

Xperia Play

Xperia Play the game-smartphone from Sony Ericsson and there are already reviews on the network. The guys at Kotaku(http://www.kotaku.com.br/conteudo/xperia-play-o-playstation-phone-que-nao-e-tao-playstation-assim/) did a good analysis of the smartphone, it was made mostly for those who enjoy games like me.
For now the price is still a little high US$ 420 .00 for a smartphone, that instead of keyboard has a control similar to the Playstation with a directional pad, start, select, X, square, triangle , O, L and R . The analog controls appear on the screen when needed.

The games are still scarce in some countries, the Playstation- smartphone comes with Crash Bandicoot installed and ready to play and there are more classics of PSOne available. For those who like a lot games and won’t use the smartphone for other serious (productive!) things can it is a good option, it may be better to wait a while for prices to drop and more games become available.

Many people down about 3D gaming are they wrong?

Nielsen statistics showing 71% of gamers had said they want to play their games in 3D, as well as noting that 3DTV uptake was running faster than HDTV had been at a similar point in its lifecycle – and that 40-50% of the market would be 3DTVs by 2015.
3D TV sales have been slower than expected but most of that is due to factors that no one could predict like the Euro debt crisis and the Arab spring throwing the markets in to upheaval.
Still through that all the major TV manufacturer are pumping up supplies and selling 3D TVs with it looking like its going to stay when the market up turns this year we can see some expectations for 10-15% of total TVs at X-mas will be 3D TVs. With a whopping 50% in just 4 years. Check out this great deal for an 47" LGLW5300  that includes a blu ray player and glasses all for only $1,099!!

Counter Strike: Global Offensive

For those of you who just got the internet yesterday, counter strike has been a gaming phenomenon for over a decade.
This new release will be no exception to the rule its slated for Xbox,ps3, and PC.
Check out the CG trailer below.

It's easy to forget how unforgiving Counter-Strike can be. Valve's competitive online shooter truly rewards the skilled and stomps all over the newcomers. There are no Call of Duty-style kill streaks, no artillery barrages to call in or packs of dogs to let loose. It's just you, your guns, a few grenade types and your ability to react. Map knowledge, teamwork and quick reflexes are the only things that matter.  -from IGN

Vengeful families on Skyrim

One new feature in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim can change your way of acting in-game. If you're used to killing NPCs that pisses you off in the game because they stuck you not letting you pass or something, know that in the new The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim may have a family.
This implies that if you kill a NPC coldly without reason, his family may want
a revenge and will chase you until you are lying on the floor rotting. That's right, the families of the NPCs will want to revenge the death of their loved ones.
So it is better to act cautiously in Bethesda's new game that will be released on 11/11/11 for
PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. There are hints that this come will be also released as a 3D game for the ps3 and Xbox no word on the PC yet. Hopefully for all you Cinema 3D fans that can come true.
