LG Google TV coming out with OnLive cloud-based gaming

With all the cloud services hovering over the smart technologies, LG is definitely getting ahead of others with the OnLive cloud-based gaming service. It was recently announced that LG will be putting this service in their G2 Google TV. At this point, some of you may be wondering just exactly what this OnLive feature does. It utilizes LG's L9 dual-core processor to allow gaming without PC or any type of console.

This OnLive service allows people to communicate with other people using the service as well. It's also connected to social networking sites like Facebook so you can record your gaming videos and share with your friends almost instantly. The MultiView feature is probably one of the most interesting features where you see multiple screens so you can spectate and chat with friends online while playing games.

All these cool features will be offered for free however, the games won't come free. There are currently hundreds of games provided by OnLive and it will soon expand to thousands and so forth. The price of the games will range from $5.99 to $39.99. If you don't like paying for each game, you could sign up for PlayPack which allows you to play all the games available for unlimited time. OnLive will offer subscriptions in 1-month ($9.99), 3-month ($27.99), 6-month ($52.99) and 12-month ($99.99) packages.

I'm really glad that LG is doing something like this because I really like their TVs for their quality and the design. They have a really nice taste in terms of art and technology. I hope they have plans to add this service to their current TVs so I don't have to get a new one..
