Samsung spins off LCD unit just in time

I reported along with about every other news source that the south Korean giant Samsung was spinning off its display away from the Electronics corp to a separate company called Samsung Display. 

What most people did not report and came out a day later is that this was during class action litigation against the company that it lost at the same time that is expected to cost hundreds of millions. 

They produced roughly 120,000,000 during the 3 1/2 years they claim only 1% are defective but real estimates are much higher. A judgment has been settled and users can expect to receive a new TV and if they don't have the old TV due to it being broken ( thanks Samsung for hiding this from your customers) they will receive a $300 dollar credit. 

This seem like really convenient timing to drop a slightly less profitable business and get off the hook from 300,000,000 plus in fees to be paid out to consumers not to mention the millions they spent on defense.

White Oled TV

So I am going to try not to get to overly technical here. I am going to explain why White Oled TV is superior to just RGB Oled TV.  I will be using a few pictures and bullet points to help me out doing this.

• in-line scanning is bad! You have seen it before^

You have all seen these lines before! With a Samsung RGB Oled this is how it works it has to scan across the TV to make the picture and change the color of each pixel individually. This is bad because TVs are limited to size over 55" is hard to accomplish. 

We want 65" or bigger right! its not possible with in-line scanning.

White Oled TV from LG no in-line scanning = good!

• Power consumption

RGB Oled consumes way more power with out the 4th subpixel for white. To make White it has to turn on all 3 colored subpixels. So this means to show white it is using 300% power! 

White Oled TV with the 4th white sub pixel only needs to turn on 1/4 using only 100% of power to produce white. 

White Oled TV from LG 4th white sub pixel = good!

• White Oled TVs are also more environmentally safe to produce.
• They are coming in 2012!
• they have near perfect black levels
• BEST response time .002-.05 ms which is crazy fast much faster the any other type of TV.

In short White Oled TV is the best of the bunch and you should be ecstatic if you can get one do grace your TV room. 

Samsung done making questionably good LCD TVs

Samsung has finally spun off its puttering LCD business. 

5 reasons this is a good thing for U.S and bad for who ever works there.

1. Oled will not be pushed further in to development (Samsung has to catch up to LGs Woled here) focus will be changed.

2.  You will now have the option to buy only the quality Samsung products their TVs were full of problems read any forum or Google search Samsung TV broken the 18,000,000 results should help you out there. 

3.  If you work there I am sorry 670m is pretty much pennies in this game and while they may be able to ride it for a few years of profitability LCD is dead your probably out of a job by 2015.

4. First world products will become better focus on stuff made in Korea and Japan back the big companies not the shit that is made in china ( no thanks apple) LCDs will soon be so old tech wise and so out of style people will be donating them to Africa for the tax write off. 

5. Samsung is getting leaner and meaner better for all products when companies like LG have really be stepping up their game in the TV and home appliance world.

Crack attacks and Mass effect 3

Worlds worst remote!

Alex Baldwin says it best! 

This is a horrible Idea and no one would want it its takes 15 times longer the pressing it in on your smart phone or a standard key board. Such a bad idea no one wants this or needs it. 

Same sex Star Wars

While this isn't new to video games or earth. I this one is pretty funny. The people over at the Conan show made a video about the same sex couples in star wars.

  Yoda and luke (I know it is not him) Chewy and Han is also amazing. They are both good it makes me laugh that it will probably upset Star Wars fans and Religious conservatives probably the first them they have ever agreed on any thing. Sit back relax and enjoy its SFW so don't worry.

ECO TV

Eco TV? That is what LG says it has? Making the manufacturing more standardized and making the components recyclable and halogen free. 

LG is trying to make its products better for the environment, unlike some companies who exploit Chinese child labor and pollute like crazy ehmmmm.......Apple.  

Any ways its something to think about in your technology if its just as good as another why not get the one better for the earth.

So the game was developed as a flash game to start but has kind of taken a life of its own on after a very famous gamer CRITICAL recorded his play though of the game. Which is what you just saw.

It has also spawned a pretty funny guy at comicon also a host of other things; a simple search on Google your Youtube will bring you a host of more videos for a game that you never knew existed but its the hardest one in the world.
